Located in Vicksburg National Military Park are the recovered remains of the U.S.S. Cairo a City Class gunboat used by the Union Army during the Civil War. The museum showcases the gunboat, which sank in 1862 and was recovered in three pieces in 1964. There is also a museum displaying artifacts recovered from the ship.
