Established in 1899, the Vicksburg National Military Park honors one of the most important battles of the American Civil War. Today, the site hosts more than 1,300 monuments, reconstructed trenches, an antebellum home, a cannon, the Vicksburg National Cemetery and more.
The Linden Plantation Gardens have served as a farm and a troop encampment in the past. Today there are eight acres of gardens to explore on the site, including formal and informal gardens. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour from March 15 through November 1 or arrange to stay at the bed and breakfast on the grounds of the gardens.
